I have a copy of Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard Server. I am trying to install it on 4.1.26 that is running on Mac OS 10.8. I switched from 4.2.12 to 4.1.26 because I read on line that 4.1.26 worked for installation of 10.6 Server but 4.2.12 did not. My attempt at installation ends by infinitely looping on 'Still waiting for root device'. I suspect that this message appears because I have not partitioned my virtual disk drive as a Mac OS journaled drive. However, I don't know how to partition the virtual drive from within.
Attached is a copy of my VBox.log file. Can you please tell me what's wrong? I have performed further tests.
Mac OS 10.6 Server does install on 4.1.12 and Mac OS X 10.7.5, but it does not install on 4.1.16 and Mac OS X 10.8.3. I have attached two log files: VBox.4.1.16.MacOSX.10.8.3.log and VBox.4.1.12.MacOSX.10.7.5.log. Also, I understand from on-line accounts of other users that Mac OS X 10.6 Server does not install on 4.1.14 and Mac OS X 10.7, but I have not attached a log file for 4,1.14. Finally, I have attached a log file for 4.2.12 and Mac OS X 10.8.3, which shows failure to install Mac OS X 10.6. The reason for the failure appears to be different than for 4.1.16.
